Hey There, Pumpkin

While visiting the pumpkin patch used to to be a tried and true tradition that we did as a family, it's been a few years since we've gone. I just wasn't sure if the kids were very interested in it anymore. However, when we were invited to go with Tiffanie and Jaxen this year, the kids were all excited. Spoiler Alert - they had a blast!

Our schedule is pretty hectic right now with our extra-curriculars such basketball practices, lab, band, and cross country. We really only had one afternoon where our schedule lined up with the Smiths schedule, so we spent it at Oklahoma Heritage Farms. This is the same place we had visited a couple years ago with the Lewellens, and really enjoyed the improvements that had been made.

Bren (riding solo and not sad about it)

Brecklyn and Brooke

Look how cute they are 💙

Please tell me how my baby boy is six feet tall?!?

Not six feet tall, but still my baby :-)

Brooke, Jax, and Bri jumping on the trampoline . . . nevermind that it was only a few days before XC Nationals!

Brecklyn and Brooke were proud of this gigantic tower they built. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before the Oklahoma wind knocked it down.

I was hoping that we could pass on the corn pit this year. I mean, the kids are older and surely that nasty corn would no longer have an appeal, right? Wrong! Not only did they play in it, but they completely buried each other in it!

And yes, that nasty corn was falling out of their clothing for the rest of the day!

Our favorite activity was probably the ride-on toys. We spent quite a bit of time racing each other, and of course I lost. Ah well . . . it was fun!

I can't tell you how many laps Bren and I took on this contraption. He had it going so fast that it would drift going around the curves!

Bri and Jaxen racing Bren and me

Winner, winner!!!

Such a gorgeous Oklahoma day!

I loved taking the kids to the pumpkin patch when they were all little, but I also loved being there with them as bigger kids. Thank you, God, for our abundant blessings!

As our final pumpkin patch activity for the day, we conquered the corn maze. This one was the real deal, and I still had kids trying to find their way out when it was time for us to go (Bren had basketball practice that evening so we were on a time schedule).

So thankful for an afternoon with my favorite kiddos 💜💙💜💗!
