Just Play on Labor Day!

Hi, Everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend. We had a relaxing weekend with lots of play thrown in . . . definitely no labor!

The fun started Friday night when we went to Ross and Tia's house for swimming and pizza. We always have a great time hanging out with them! They are family to us, so things are just chill when we're together. The weather was definitely warm enough for swimming, and the kids had a great time in the water!

The whole crew :-)

On Saturday morning, Brenson and Chris met up with Bren's friend, Zack, and his family at a rock climbing facility. Bren had the best time, and thankfully Shana took lots of pics for me :-). I did have to look really closely at the pics to see if it was Z or B, though, because they look so much alike!

While Brenson was climbing, the twins spent the entire morning playing in their playhouse,

and Brianna had fun with our neighbor girl, Riley!

We had a super relaxing evening, followed by a pretty normal Sunday. However, after evening services, the little girls got to go home with Grampy and G-Jo for the night. They were so excited about this, and thought they were the most special girls in the whole world!

On Monday, we had been invited to a potluck pool party at the Brown's house. They live just down the road from us, and we have just recently started to get to know them. The girls stayed with Grampy and G-Jo the entire day, which was really nice because that meant Chris and I got to socialize and relax while the big kids swam with their friends at the party.

Bri and Abi

After we left the party, we headed over to Mom and Dad's house for dinner. Russ, Lisa, and Chloe were there, too, so Lisa and I snuck off to do a little shopping downtown before we ate.

How do you like my hat?!?

We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner, along with potato salad, veggies, and fruit. It was a yummy summer meal to help us say 'farewell!' to the season!

And now, it's back to the grind! I feel like it was the perfect weekend to enjoy the last taste of some summer activities (even though the weather will probably still be hot for a few more weeks!) We're looking forward to what Autumn brings :-).
