Another post about another fun tradition! Are you ready for this?!?
We bake and decorate Christmas cookies every year, but this year we decided to up our game a little bit and invite a few others to join us. The big kids spent the night with Grampy and G-Jo on Friday, December 20th (their last day of school before break), and we had already planned to bake and decorate cookies on Saturday, December 22nd. Chloe had also spent the night with them, so we invited Grampy, G-Jo, and Chloe to stay and make cookies with us.
Brecklyn was dressed for the part and oh so excited!
Before the big kids and grandparents got to our house, I made up one batch of cookies with the little girls. I knew we'd need two batches, so I thought it best to have one already made. Their chefs hats are my favorite!

As soon as the big kids arrived, they started on the second batch.

Chloe was carefully measuring out the flour while Bren supervised :-).
Crazy kids!
After we got the second batch of dough all mixed up, the fun began!
The cookie crew was ready to get started!

Rolling out a wee piece of dough with a wee rolling pin!
I was very thankful I decided to do a double batch of cookies because we needed the extra dough for our extra guests. The thing I love most about the recipe I use is that the cookies look exactly the same before and after baking. They don't distort or lose their shape at all!
I know we made frosting and decorated the cookies just a few hours after these photos were taken, but I have no evidence of that. I also know that a good bit of the cookies never made it to the frosting stage because they were consumed :-). This is easily one of our messiest traditions, but everyone loves it so much it makes it worth it!
