Last week, Jeremy and Shawna came to town for a visit. While here, Shawna mentioned that it had been a while since she had seen Granny Tiger and that it would be nice to go visit her. Mom thought this was a great idea, so we planned a trip for Friday of the week Jeremy and Shawna were here.
It worked out that both Lisa and I were able to go, too, and Shawna volunteered to be the driver. We had a great trip to Wichita and just really enjoyed being together. I'm not sure when - if ever - the four of us have been able to spend uninterrupted time together like that.
Granny was so excited for our visit and was ready to go out to eat as soon as we got into town. So, that's exactly what we did! Per my request, Shawna tried to document the moment for us, but Granny missed the memo that we were taking a photo, haha.
We went to a delicious local restaurant that Granny had been to a time or two before. I got breakfast for lunch, but there were a lot of great options. It was tasty, and we all enjoyed our meal!
Once we finished eating, Granny insisted on paying for lunch. She handed Lisa her wallet and told her to get the "big one". We weren't sure which credit card was the "big one" as they are all physically the same size, so Granny had to clarify by calling it by its color. I am certainly curious what "big one" means to Granny, though!
After lunch, Granny wanted to do some shopping. We first stopped at Dollar Tree for her to buy some cards. Shawna just put things in her phone GPS, and after we arrived at Dollar Tree, Granny declared that we were not at her Dollar Tree but she supposed it would work, haha. Of course, she wasn't able to give directions, but she sure knew we weren't at the one she expected us to be at!
Then, we went to Kohl's. Granny loves to shop, but it's harder for her these days because she can't see and she's not so steady on her feet. Shawna, Lisa, and I took turns helping Granny around the store as Mom isn't really able to wrangle her. At one point, she asked us to sit her down by the dressing room. Mom sat down with her, and they both insisted they would sit while the rest of us shopped. Shawna, Lisa, and I went shopping, but when we came back to the dressing room Mom and Granny weren't there. Granny had decided she wanted to look at some jewelry, and of course Mom felt like she needed to go with her. Argh! But, everything worked out ok. We (and our families) were all spoiled by Granny T, and we had an enjoyable afternoon shopping.
Once our shopping spree was over, we went back to Granny's apartment and had the best time visiting and laughing with one another. Then, I decided we needed to do a photo shoot.

The afternoon flew by, and before we knew it we needed to be hitting the road for Oklahoma, Once we crossed into Oklahoma, we stopped for a bathroom break and had to get a photo with the Oklahoma sign (Mom wasn't feeling up for it).
It was a fairly simple day. We didn't do anything too out of the ordinary or overly exciting, but it is a day I will cherish always. I love the photos from this day, and I think you can see how happy we all were in them. It was just so good to be together, and I thanked God over and over on our way home that it worked out for us to make the trip.
