Book Club

My friend, Kendall, is always scheming up great ideas for our group of friends to do (we're minus one in this picture).This past week, she proposed that we start a book club. I AM SO EXCITED!!! I think it's a great idea to keep our brains active, and to help prevent them from going to mush now that some of us are on summer break (not me, I work all summer... except for this summer because I'm taking off to go to Africa!!! :-)

Anyway, the book Kendall chose for our first Book Club selection is called Twilight. Has anyone ever heard of it? Well, I hadn't, but apparently it's a pretty big deal. It's the first in a series written by Stephanie Meyer, and it is supposed to be turned into a movie later this year. To find out more about the author and book, check this out. I haven't actually read through much of this because I don't want to risk coming across something that will ruin the book for me.

However, I do know enough about the book to know that this isn't the kind of story I would generally enjoy. That's good though, sometimes we need to break our own boundaries. If anyone wants to join us in reading, just leave a comment and let me know. I'll post a schedule once we figure it out. Also, I'll keep everyone posted on how it's going!
