Update on the 2009 goals

Remember my list of goals for 2009? As a way of keeping myself accountable, I'm going to post my progess with each goal. Oh, and be nice to me in your comments!!!

The original goal is in gray and the update is in blue.

Goal 1 -- Read the Bible all the way through. It's been a struggle at times, but Chris and I have kept up with our daily reading. We are a little more than half-way through!

Goal 2 -- Drink less (maybe zero?) pop. I haven't had any since New Year's Eve, but I don't know how long I'm going to make myself suffer. I kept this up for about 2 months, but after having a terrible sore throat, I started drinking some pop for medicinal purposes *grin*. I'm definitely drinking less pop, but unfortunately still drinking some.

Goal 3 -- Read at least 10 novels from the list of 100 must-read novels of all time that I printed from the internet. I'm on book number 7. This has been a very enjoyable experience!

Goal 4 -- Scrap at least one layout per week of my own photos. This hasn't happened, but I haven't been completely neglecting this either.

Goal 5 -- Continue to work on the "Little Aviator" cross-stitch that I started last year. Make major progress on it. Here's what it looked like on January 1:
Here's what it looks like now:
Goal 6 -- Walk for exercise more. I was doing really well with this until it got so blazing hot outside. I'm certainly not done with it though.

Goal 7 -- Drink more water. I'm drinking lots of water these days. It is easy now that it's habit.

Goal 8 -- Memorize more scripture. I have memorized 3 passages since January, which is better than none, but I really wanted to be further on this by now.

Goal 9 -- Floss. Haha, yeah. I completely dropped the ball on this one.

Goal 10 -- Trust God more. Hard, but necessary. This area could always use improvement. This will be a lifelong pursuit.

Hey! I think you're doing great! I see progress!!

On the flossing thing: In all of my 32 years, I've hated to floss, but just recently tried those little floss picks. They look kind of like little slingshots. They make it SO easy and I'm doing it regularly now. And, they're really not that expensive. Try those!!

Good job with most of them!

I'm horrible about flossing, too. Maybe it's a family thing...

Ummm...I think I'm partially to blame for your fall off the wagon (goal #2). But I'll vouch for you...You really did have a sore throat (or were a great actor) and drank Coke for medicinal purposes. I remember...I was there...In the van.

As for flossing...Well, you know my theory.

You know what they say about making goals, right? "Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss you'll land among the stars." Oh, man, that's one of my very least favorite quotes. It was interesting the first time, but not anymore. And why don't they say, "Shoot for the stars and even if you miss you'll land on the moon"? I think it'd be cool to land on the moon. Goal for 2010: Land on the moon.

This is what happens to me when you go on vacation. I get all ramble-y.

Anyway, good job on your goals. You're much further along on them than I am on mine.
