Ummm... I think it's my fault

Recently, our mid-south western state has seen more winter weather than we know what to do with. In fact, we've had record-breaking snowfall amounts and low temperatures.

And, I'm pretty sure it's all my fault.

You see, back in December, I was kind of complaining that we hadn't had any snow yet this winter. It's Brianna's first winter, and I wanted her to experience snow. I LOVE the snow, so of course I wanted to share that with her.

It did snow at the beginning of January while we were visiting my parents. However, Brianna was so sick that we never made it outside to discover what snow is all about.

Then, a couple of weeks ago, it snowed several inches and I was so excited! For whatever reason, though, B and I never made it outside to play or take photos. I was really kicking myself for that, feeling like I had missed my chance to play with Brianna and take photos of her in the snow at this age.

So, I prayed. I prayed that it would snow again, and that I would have the chance to take Brianna out in it. I prayed that winter wouldn't quite be over yet (because I really love the cold and snow). I prayed that I would be given one more opportunity to see the snow this year.

Ooops.

This past Tuesday, my prayer was answered! Wow, was it ever answered! It snowed and snowed and snowed... until we received a record-breaking 20 inches of snow! Four inches of snow will shut down our corner of the world, so you can just imagine what it has been like receiving 20 inches. I mean, our mail hasn't even been delivered since Monday!

And you had better believe, I seized the opportunity this time! Ha!

It was so cold and windy that it made taking photos quite difficult. This wasn't a typical snow for our state... it was blizzard conditions!

Poor baby... I laid her in the snow and she hated it!

We let B stay in the garage (out of the wind) while I made Chris take more photos!

I'm not afraid of a little blizzard. All those years spending time in Ukraine trained me well for this day!

The wind caused the snow to really drift in some areas. We had 4 and 5 foot snow drifts.

The next day, although it was extremely cold (a high temperature of 15 degrees Farenheit), it was sunny and beautiful! B liked being outside in the snow a little more this time.

Chris and many of our neighbors spent the entire afternoon shoveling driveways and even our road. The snow plow never made it over to our neighborhood, and since there were 3 foot snow drifts in the road, they felt like they had to do something. It was a good little neighborhood bonding time *smile*. You can really see how the deep the snow was in this photo:

Mommy is happy... she finally got her snow pics :-).

And guess what? It's actually snowing again today! We've received another inch and a half, and it's still coming. I know there are many people out there that hate this weather and the inconvenience it brings, but I love it!

Yay for snow!

You might be like Elijah, but with the snow instead of rain. How about you pray it doesn't snow now?

Can you pray for me to get the same amount of snow? Our 5 inches wasn't enough. It was gone after 3 days.

If this is the answer to your prayer...I need to forward you some things to pray about, haha! Wouldn't it be fun if we lived within walking distance?

I love the snow too! There is something almost magical about it! When B first did not like the snow, she was probably still traumatized from the time when I dipped her hand in the ice cream. HaHa! :)
