We had a great weekend! Saturday morning, we helped with our church's monthly food give-away. That is always so rewarding . . . hard work, but very worth it.
Then, Saturday afternoon, we dyed Easter eggs with B. This is something that we did every single year growing up, even when I was like 18 years old. So much fun! I couldn't wait to do this with my daughter!
First, we got all the supplies ready. B was wondering what in the world was going on.
Then, we started dyeing eggs. B was content to observe at first . . .
but soon wanted to hold the eggs.
Eventually, she wanted to help, which of course made a huge mess, but was so worth it!
Our egg-dyeing team:
And, Miss B with the finished eggs. I think by the time all was said and done, we put our hands in the dye about 5 times, spilled one cup of dye, and broke about 4 eggs. Not too bad for our first time, haha!
Sunday morning, the Easter bunny left this for B:
She was so excited! We doll her up every Sunday for church, but this was her first time to wear this dress. I thought it looked cute!
She didn't want to put down her book or Elmo egg to take a photo, haha.
Love, love, love this cheesy grin!
She had to explore everything in her basket.
Our little fam before church:As a {sort of} side-note, we don't have a special service or anything at church for Easter. I know that is different than most churches, but we commemorate the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ every single Sunday (Acts 20:7) by partaking of the Lord's Supper (also known as Communion). "Easter" is a holiday created by man, and God wants us to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ every Sunday, not just one special Sunday of the year.
Anyway, it poured rain ALL DAY here on Sunday, so our plans for an outside egg hunt went out the window. However, we did hide the eggs around the house for B to find. I didn't know if she would "get" egg hunting, but she sure did. She was very serious about it (as you can see in the video), but got super-excited after she had found all the eggs. She keeps hiding things then running to find them now, ha!
We hope you had a good weekend, too!

Our church didn't have a special service either. I think the people who showed up for church solely because it was Easter were probably disappointed. The place was packed and super hot because of all the extra bodies, and I'm looking forward to getting back to normal this week. tee hee
Love those videos. Brianna is getting so big! I love that picture of her in the rocking chair. Kiss, kiss!
