I decided to go with a vlog again to update you all on the latest with our fertility cycle. It's actually easier than typing it all out, plus I wanted to show the Follistim pen.
Again, there were a couple of things I forgot to mention. Maybe I need to make notes for myself so I'll remember to get it all in, ha! I know several preachers that preach without notes (including my dad!). How do you do it?
Forgotten details:
--> Someone asked me on my previous vlog if Brianna was conceived on our first IUI. No, she was not. We did 4 injection cycles last time. The first one was canceled due to poor response, cycles 2 and 3 were failed IUIs, and Brianna was conceived on our 4th injectible cycle. We had previously done 8 cycles on Clomid as well.
--> I was so caught up with being disappointed about today's appointment that I forgot to mention how I've been feeling. I felt great on the Femara... no headaches this time! Since Monday (when I began the Follistim injections), I have had tummy issues and severe fatigue. I'm not sure how much of that is related to the Follistim, but probably most. Also, I don't feel like I've been grumpy or moody this time around... although the Hubs may claim otherwise :).
--> The Follistim has to be refrigerated until it is opened. It doesn't hurt going in, unless it is cold. I had forgotten this small detail the first day, and injected it cold. OUCH! It stung for about 5 minutes. After it is opened, it can be room temperature, which is much more comfortable to inject.
--> After watching the vlog, I think I come across as a bit aloof about the {not so great} news we got today. Keep in mind that I had already taken several hours to process, and disappointment at the doctor's office is nothing new to me. Plus, I'm trying to stay a bit detached emotionally from the process. All coping mechanisms, no doubt.
I'll update soon regarding whether or not this cycle is cancelled.
*UPDATE* -- I just got a call from Dr. P's office, and we are continuing the cycle. My Estradiol was 106 which is a good thing, because it means that the smaller follicles probably will not continue to grow. I'll continue with the 100 IUs of Follistim a day, and go back in 4 days for another ultrasound to we'll see how we're progressing then. Praying that a few follies hog all the medicine and grow grow grow!

Well, I was disappointed until I read the update at the end. Come on Follies!!!
I'll gladly make you a chicken pot pie if you want to come out here with Chris!
I'm so glad you get to keep going!!! Maybe if this cycle doesn't work they'll increase your beginning Follistim to get them growing and then taper it off towards the end so you don't get too many. My first IUI cycle they very nearly converted into a small IVF because of the number of follicles I had, but they didn't and I had a chemical pregnancy. Ahh well... I hope this works for you!!!!!
