As many things have in 2020, Easter looked different for us this year than it has in years past. There was no gathering with family and friends for an egg hunt and a big dinner. There was no going to see a bunny or even picking out new clothes. There was no coloring eggs with our cousin.
I was determined, however, to not let all of our traditions fall by the wayside. Just because we couldn't color eggs with our cousin like we normally do doesn't mean we couldn't color them at all. And just because we didn't have new clothes didn't mean we couldn't dress up and enjoy an Easter basket.
After I decided that we would color eggs, I realized that I didn't have an egg dye kit and I wasn't willing to go to the store to buy one. Instead, I decided to look up a recipe to make my own dye and that worked great. So well, in fact, that I may never buy an egg dye kit again!
We invited G-Jo to join us for the egg dying fun, and got to work. I'm not sure why I didn't get any photos of G-Jo helping us, but she was there!

Oh wait! There's G-Jo! See how vibrant the eggs are?!?
Happy Easter from my sweeties!
I'm so glad we forged ahead with this tradition . . . it's one of my favorites!
Easter was this past Sunday, so we got all dressed up and took some photos just like we always do. These are some of my favorites photos every year (yes, I say that a lot!).

After photos, I always bring out the kids' Easter baskets and let them "open" them.
I was able to order some things online this year, and it turned out better than I anticipated.
Brooke and Brecklyn were certainly happy!
Bren was excited, too.

My big kids are acting so big these days. They just sat and calmly looked through their baskets.
Brooke and Brecklyn were too excited to sit, haha!
Too cool for school!
I'm so thankful for my little family!
Because we were all exposed to Covid-19 a few weeks ago, our entire congregation has been quarantined. That ended late last week, so we were able to meet together again on Sunday. We had a parking lot service, but it was still wonderful to see each other and worship together from our vehicles.

The rain came down, the wind blew, and there were a few snags with the sound system, but that didn't stop us from worshipping. It was so good to be together again.

We definitely missed our usual traditions, but we are thankful for what we were able to do. I believe this pandemic is helping us all to appreciate the things we took for granted before.
