April Round-Up!

The month of April is the heart of track-and-field season around here, so it seems like life was happening in between the track meets this month! I'll dedicate a separate post to all things track, but this post will be about some of the other things we had going on during April!

Brecklyn is a good little reader and loves to snuggle up with a book. It makes my Momma heart happy to see her reading before bed!

Brooke and Brecklyn both got hair cuts this month, and Brecklyn's in particular was pretty drastic. Our neighbor, Tim, cuts hair in his garage. Chris and Bren have been seeing him since around Christmastime, but this was the first time he has cut their girls' hair. Their new looks suited them well!

Posers :-)

The twins got their hair cuts on a Saturday morning, and that evening Brecklyn came down with a fever. She and I stayed in on Sunday (Easter), and when she was supposed to be resting, she pulled a tooth! This is only the third tooth she's lost, and she looks so cute with a hole in her front teeth!

When Brecks went back to school the following Tuesday, her teacher sent me a text that she barely recognized her "new student" between the hair cut and missing tooth. Her friend, Patrick (our neighbor), also lost a tooth over the weekend. I love getting cute pics from the twins' teachers!

We typically take some time on the weekend to run errands. One weekend, we needed to run to Sam's, but the big kids were not interested in going. They are at an age where I don't mind leaving them home for an hour or so, so Chris, the twins, and I went on to Sam's. We had dinner at Cane's, and I couldn't resist the great lighting in the restaurant!

Looking so cute!

It took us some days to get used to Brecklyn's new look!

Brooke's look didn't change as much, but she wanted to pose for photos, too :-).

All my girls love to create little shows or ceremonies and invite us to watch them. One evening, Brooke and Brecklyn scripted a wedding between Peter Rabbit and Hannah the Bunny. We all were asked to dress up to attend the ceremony, and I loved that the sign said, "Happy Wedeen Day!"

The end of April brought with it the end of our homeschool co-op for this school year. Bren took archery and guitar the first semester and continued with guitar the second semester. To show off some of the skills they learned throughout the year, the guitar classes gave a little performance in the multipurpose room one day during lunch.

Bren is focused!

Always so serious!

Daddy was able to come see Bren perform, and we were very happy for our musician!

At the end of the school year, our co-op does a large showcase for all the classes that wish to participate. It ends up being several hours long, which is one of the reasons Sheldon (the guitar teacher) does his own performance. Brianna was a part of the Color Guard both first and second semester, and they performed during the showcase while the chorus sang. It was fun to see Bri's name in the program!

Of course, we were all there to cheer her on!

They twirled giant lollipops to the song, "Candy Man".

G-Jo and Grampy were able to come watch Bri, too.

Brianna really enjoyed being part of Color Guard this year and hopes to be involved with it again next year. We are certainly thankful for the opportunities afforded us through our homeschool co-op!

Now it's time to embrace May!
