I'm so very sad to announce that this past Wednesday marked the end of an era for my family. It was the very last Library Story Time that my kids will attend regularly as "toddlers", and quite honestly I'm struggling with it more than I thought I would.
We have been attending Library Story Time on Wednesday mornings since Brenson could barely walk. It's been a part of our routine and something we look forward to each week. I've built a relationship with Ms. Tena (the children's librarian) and cultivated friendships with other families that participate regularly. It's hard to say good-bye to something that's been a positive in my life for over half a decade.
BUT - I know that it's time to move forward and embrace the next stage of life that is waiting for us. If I had things my way, I would have two more little ones who would enjoy story time for another few years, but that just isn't the way life has worked out. It hurts my heart to think about it, but I know I need to focus on being grateful for the time we've had and for my living children who are healthy and growing.
(Sometimes my emotions about miscarriage and my family not looking the way I imagined it would are triggered by unexpected things. This is definitely one of those times for me.)
I know we will continue to visit the library for the summer reading program and for Lego Club. I know we'll still see Ms. Tena, and that I'll still get to visit with the mom friends I've made. I find those things comforting as I'm struggling to let go of story time. Parenthood is truly so bittersweet.
We attended our very last story time on Wednesday, May 15th. It is held through the end of May (they don't do it in the summer), but we plan to be out of town (in Tennessee) for the last few sessions.
My sweet girlies listened intently while Ms. Tena read a story.
Their abilities to sit and participate in the crafts have developed so much! Story time wasn't always this easy for me :-).

Dancing with the egg shakers after they finish their craft is one of their favorite things!
I will always be thankful for these years and the opportunity I had each week to connect with people through Library Story Time. It has served my children and me well, and we are grateful as we close this chapter.
