Just Horsing Around

Hi, Everyone! I hope you are a having a great LAST day of September. Where has the month gone?!? We had a fun weekend, so I thought I should get on here and share all about it :-).

On Saturday, we had plans to attend a birthday party for two of our sweet friends from church. Sisters Spencer and Stormi turned one and five, respectively. I teach Spencer in bible class on Sundays, and Brooke and Brecklyn are in class with Stormi.

The party was at 11am in Oologah at a place called Heart of Gold Equine. This is the same place that hosts one of the pumpkin patches we enjoy each year. We knew the party was "horse" themed, but we didn't know that the kids were going to be actually riding horses during the gathering. What a fun surprise!

The party began with cake and gifts. Spencer is a little bit shy, but she was so cute digging into her cake!

My little girls loved helping Stormi open her gifts. She received several toy horses that all the girls thought were fantastic.

After gifts and food, we all walked out to the barn to ride the horses. There were two employees walking two horses at a time. While the kids were waiting for their turn to ride, there were two miniature ponies that they were able to brush and pet. Of course, we recognized some of the ponies from the pumpkin patch!

Brooke loved riding, but almost couldn't be calm enough for the horse. She got there, though :-).

Brecklyn enjoyed riding so much, but was a little nervous. She did great, though!

It's safe to say this party was a HUGE hit with my kiddos! The barn was sweltering, but they didn't care one bit. I love that they're open to so many different experiences, and that we were able to celebrate with our friends today!
