I almost laugh at the title of my last post that says, "Well, That Was Unexpected". I'm beginning to feel like maybe that's the theme of our year!
The day after I wrote that post outlining how stores and churches are closing, how Chris is working from home for a few weeks, and how spring break has been extended by a few weeks, Oklahoma followed several other states in announcing that school is closed for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. CLOSED. FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR.
Not too long after we received that announcement, the company Chris works for sent out an email stating that all Tulsa employees would remain on "work from home" status until the middle of May.
And today, we found out that some church members where we attend have been exposed to Covid-19, thereby exposing everyone who gathered for worship this past Sunday. Including us. We are all quarantining for the next 14 days.
I'm mind blown right now. It almost feels surreal, and our life feels like it's been turned upside down. Everything feels way over the top and a little insane to me, but I also don't believe every single blurb the media puts out about the severity of this virus. I do recognize that it's real, but do we really need to cancel life because of it? Those are just a few of many, many thoughts rumbling around in my head tonight.
I could have never guessed a few months ago that this is where we'd be right now.
And I'm just not sure what to think.
