So Much to Be Thankful For

This year's Thanksgiving was a little different than normal for us. A little more . . . lowkey. After the busy season we've had and just getting back from a 12 day vacation a couple weeks ago, it was nice to have a calm holiday.

For Thanksgiving Day, it was just our family of six and my parents. Yes, different than normal, for sure! We hosted the meal at our house and had a really lovely day.

For once, I remembered to take a photo of the food. Yum!

Ready to eat!

After the meal and cleanup, we sat down for an afternoon of game playing. I was cold, so I had my house robe on to keep me warm!

As the evening set in, the kids played, Dad walked, and Mom and I visited. Jeremy and his crew FaceTimed us to talk for a bit, and we had texted with Lisa earlier in the day. It was a beautiful, relaxing day!

The Friday after Thanksgiving, we went out to visit Meme and Papa on their land. They always have their Thanksgiving meal on Friday to accommodate Cassie and her family, so it worked out for us to be out there at the same time.

Bren, Daddy, and I took a walk around the land to get some fresh air and do some exploring.

Down by the pond there was evidence of beavers that Bren found fascinating.

The girls spent a lot of time on the tire swing . . . they love that thing!

They had Joe out there pushing them part of the time, and then recruited Zeke to push them once Joe got tired :-).

Inside, Meme was doing some crafting with the girls. It was certainly another relaxing day!

While I miss the big family gathering during some holidays, it's nice to have time to relax and not feel like you need a vacation after a holiday. We are always thankful for time spent with one another!
