Tulsa Botanical Garden of Lights 2022

Just as we've done for the past several years, we spent an evening at the Tulsa Botanical Garden of Lights a few days ago. I think this was our 5th year to visit the Garden of Lights, and it continues to be one of my favorite December traditions!

Last year, we started the evening by eating at Albert G's Barbeque in downtown Tulsa, so we decided to do the same thing this year. It was delicious and a great way to kick off the night!

Bren, Chloe, Bri, Brecklyn, Brooke, Sadie, Caroline, and Evelyn (our special guest for the evening) at Albert G's

It's always so beautiful and peaceful at the Gardens!

Chloe and Bri - bestie cousins!

Family pic in front of the light tree . . . it wasn't that cold, but I couldn't get Bren to pull down his scarf!

This year there were some new things, including several areas with these light balls. The little girls were all fascinated with them!

It was chilly enough that hot cocoa sounded good, so we stopped by the event center to get some. This photo of Brooke holding the "Naughty" sign at the photo booth in the event center made me laugh . . . hmmmm.

The three stooges!

NOT the three stooges, haha!

Another favorite area is always the treehouse. The kids love to run and jump and make the whole thing shake and wiggle!

We love it when we run into St. Nicholas at the Gardens! He's so much better than traditional American Santa!

Another new addition to the Gardens this was an area for the kids to have "snowball" fights. This area used to be just a hay bale maze, but the Gardens are stepping up their game :-). The kids, for sure, enjoyed the addition of the "snowballs"!

We also roasted marshmallows next to the snowball area. The kids would play a while, then come roast marshmallows, then go back to playing. The set-up was just right.

While the younger kids played, the Moms and older girls decided to take a walk.

My oldest baby girl 💓

While we were walking, some sort of fussing happened in the snowball area and our girls couldn't wait to tell us about it when we returned. I guess a couple of older kids were being mean to the younger girls or something, but it was funny because when we got back they said, "We just need the Moms to come fix this!" Lol. I'm not sure if they told the Dads what was going on or not, but the girls were convinced only the Moms could make it right!

I'm so glad we were able to do this again this year! Year after year, it doesn't disappoint!
