December has come to a close and along with it so has 2022! December is always a busy month, but I want to remember the small details of the things that kept us busy. Here are some of what we had going during the month of December.
The month started off for me in a wonderful way when Angie and Amy came by for a brief visit, and we all went to eat together. We don't see each other nearly enough, so these times together are especially cherished!
Amy and Brianna have a special bond, and I'm here for it!
Brenson started his basketball season this month. His first game was on December 3rd. He is an Eagle this year, playing through the INBC (Indian Nations Basketball Conference). He practices in Sequoyah, and we like his team pretty well. He is thrilled to be playing basketball again!
I love watching my lil baller!
Our sweet neighbor, Mrs. Mooney, sent us a lovely gift basket for Christmas. The Moose Munch is the best!
Brecklyn and Brooke both had their teeth cleaned this month. It was another great, cavity-free check-up!

We went to Oologah one evening to watch Chloe perform with both jazz band and concert band. It was so fun!
I tried out a glass etching technique to make some ornaments as gifts this year. For the most part, they turned out really nice. We gifted one to our friends, The Lewellens, and she sent me a photo of the ornament on their tree.
I feel like we can never escape a December without some sort of illness. Brooke had a bad ear ache right before the last week of school. She ended up being really sick for several days and missed all the last week of school fun :-(.
I had already volunteered to work the Elf Shop at school during the time she was sick, and Brianna went with me to help with that. We had fun helping, but that left Chris in charge of a sick and needy Brooke. She set up camp in our bedroom so she could be near him, and it all worked out okay.
Meanwhile, Brecklyn was having a ball doing fun holiday activities and seeing Bri and me at school volunteering.
They did so many fun Christmas activities!
Cutie!
And of course, they had a class party the day before school was out for the break. She was loving it!
I decided this year to revamp my Christmas mantle. I bought some new trees and a new wreath, and I'm really thrilled with the way it all turned out. Sometimes, things just need a little freshening up!
Once the kids were out of school for Christmas break, they drug out ALL of our Lego. We seriously have so many!
They spent days building and playing together with the Lego.
At one point, we were all trying to put together all of the sets we have. It ended up being a bit of an overwhelming task, so we gave up. The kids would mostly rather free build anyhow!
A few days before Christmas, we got a little winter weather. It was really pretty, but thankfully the snow didn't last too long. I love the snow, but I didn't want it to prevent us from being able to carry on with our Christmas plans.
My Granny spent Christmas at my aunt's house in New Mexico. She took this photo of Granny, and I decided to include it here because it just makes me smile!
Chris and I have been talking about buying a new refrigerator since we moved into this house 6 years ago. Granny caught wind that we were thinking of buying a new frig and decided to send us some funds to put toward the purchase. We picked out our new refrigerator, and it was delivered and installed on the last day of the month. I'm very happy with the way it looks!
Our old frig is still running, so we decided to move it into the garage for extra space when we need it. I kind of feel like having two refrigerators is excessive, but we do host gatherings fairly often. That's how I'm justifying to to myself anyhow :-). It will be so nice to have the extra space for gatherings!
Not too long after the frig was delivered, we had my parents and the Swearingens over for New Year's Eve. We ate lots of food, played games, and all of us minus my parents made it to midnight to ring in 2023!
We are thankful for the blessings of 2022 and ready to see what 2023 holds!
