Gimme Those Throwed Rolls!

Happy Saturday! It's the final Saturday of 2023, and I'm busy being productive and recovering from the holidays. We've had a great week with Christmas on Monday followed by a few days of relaxing, and yesterday we had the special treat of getting together with family for a few hours.

Jeremy, Shawna, JT, Mallory, and Kaylee had planned to come to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving, which would have been great because Russ, Lisa, and Chloe were here during that time, too. However, Kaylee had to have an emergency procedure on her foot instead, and they weren't able to make the trip. For Christmas, they had already planned to be in Branson in a condo they had reserved in order to spend time with Shawna's dad. So instead of everyone being together at Thanksgiving, Jeremy invited everyone to meet at Lambert's Restaurant for lunch on Friday, December 29th. We hadn't been to Lambert's in years before we were there in October at Cross Country Nationals, and then we went again just two months later!

Lambert's was super busy - and we had to wait a long time to be seated - but that just meant more time to visit with each other.

We didn't all get to sit at a table together, but it worked out ok because there's no way we would have all been able to visit at one table anyhow.
💚💚💚

After we finished at Lambert's, we went across the street to have dessert at Braum's. We also had a few gifts to exchange, and Lambert's was way too crazy for that!

Once we finished with dessert and gifts, Jeremy decided the guys needed to recreate a photo from 2015.

I don't know why they felt the need to hold the "Wet Floor" sign, but here it is!

Things have changed just a little from 2015!

Because we hadn't had enough crazy and stimulation for one day, after Braum's we decided to visit the brand new Buc-ee's that has opened up just north of Springfield. The crazier the better, right!?!

I think this Buc-ee's has only been open for a few weeks, and it was so busy that Chris had to circle the parking lot TWICE to find an open spot. Somehow, this didn't deter us from visiting!

The inside was every bit as chaotic as the parking lot predicted it would be! We grabbed a few of our favorite Buc-ee's snacks and didn't stay long.

It was definitely a pretty crazy day with a lot of driving, but I'm so glad we were able to meet up as a family and spend a little time together. Life is so unpredictable, so we always try to take the time to spend with our loved ones when possible . . . even if that means throwed rolls, silliness at Braum's, and Buc-ee's!!!
