Thunder Up!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone has had a good start to 2025. Who else is in serious disbelief that we are already 25 years into the 21st century, though?!?

After a pretty hectic Christmas season, we decided to keep going with the craziness for a few days into the new year. I mean, why not?!? On January 2nd, we headed to OKC to cheer the Thunder to an NBA victory!

Our friends, Ross and Tia, have been avid Thunder fans for a long time, so it was actually their idea to treat us all to a Thunder game (complete with food vouchers for each of us). We had great seats, and they even brought Kyrie and Britt along with us to enjoy the game.

As you can see in the photos above, my kids were especially excited about the food vouchers. When we attend events, we rarely buy food (or it's very limited) because it's so expensive. They were living their best lives choosing food and being treated to multiple things!

While the game was pretty exciting, I don't really care to just sit there and watch the whole thing. At the beginning of the second quarter, I took the younger girls to get their faces painted. I love their team spirit!

Not too long after the younger girls got back with their face paint, the older girls decided they needed face paint, too!

Kyrie and Bri

Brianna and Brenson . . . nope, he didn't want face paint!

I really wanted a photo of these girls with the court in the background, and the lights kept changing as I was trying to take it. I ended up with an orange photo, a blue photo, and a photo with normal lighting. Perfect!

Thunder games are super loud (the Thunder is actually known for its loud arena in the NBA), and the energy is just crazy the whole time. One of the most fun things about going to a game, though, is watching Ross match that crazy energy! I think Britt and Kyrie were just a little surprised to see this outrageous side of Ross, haha. I truly don't know how his voice holds out during the whole game with as much yelling as the man does!

Crazy Ross!

The Thunder played the Clippers this night and won 116-98, with a fantastic comeback after the first half. We snapped this family photo on our way out of the Paycom Center after the game was over to remember this exciting, loud, and spirited night of basketball!
