R.I.P. Chi

Dear Beloved Chi,

During our short 4 1/2 years together, I used you almost every day. You were one of my most cherished hair products, and I appreciated how straight I could make my hair with you. I appreciated that I could put huge chunks of hair through you and you would still straighten them. I appreicated that you would even make damp hair straight. I appreciated that I could be a little lazy with you.

I didn't know when I plugged you into a converter in Africa that it would hurt you. By the time I saw the smoke coming out of you, it was too late. I felt even worse when I saw this warning on the Chi website: Warning: Chi flat irons only work in USA and Canada with 110 Voltage. DO NOT use in foreign countries with voltage converter!

Because you are so expensive, instead of replacing you with another Chi, I went the cheap route and bought a $20 straightener at Wal-mart. It doesn't even compare to you, Chi! There is no being lazy with Ms. New Straightener. BUT, I had convinced myself that I could live without you until last Saturday night when I used you at Kendall's house. It was then that I remembered how wonderful you are! You are simply the best flat iron there is!

Chi, I hope that I can rob a small bank and we can be reunited soon!

Love,

A girl whose hair has only been semi-straight since I burned you up (sorry about that again, really)

There are just some things that you can't compromise on....and flat irons are on that list! I can TOTALLY relate! I bring mine to work every day and straighten once I get here:)
