And it continues...

The car issues, that is.

Chris and I thought our car issues were resolved for a while. Notice I said thought. As you know, we recently purchased an Accord -- that I named Nora by the way -- and Celeste was running well again.

Well, last week Chris had to travel for busines. On the way to the airport, the Check Engine light on Celeste came on. The Air Bag light had also been on for a few days. When we got back into town, he took it in to get checked out.

Is is a bad sign when the mechanic calls and says, "Uh, let me grab my list so I can tell you what all is wrong" ???

Apparently, we have a faulty air bag (hence, the Air Bag light), a faulty driver's side seat belt sensor, and a faulty fuel air sensor. But, the biggest thing is that we have a leaking head gasket. If you know anything about cars, you know that is not a good thing. In fact, it's a bad bad thing, AND it's an expensive thing. Like $2000 expensive to fix everything. UGH.

We have no choice but to fix it. We absolutely CAN NOT afford to buy something else right now, and we need two vehicles.

For now though, we're back down to one vehicle. At least this time it is a vehicle that we can all ride in together, but it still really stinks. This has been a summer for unexpected {big} expenses, which is pretty bad timing since I just quit my job. It is very discouraging, but we're trying to keep it all in perspective. In the grand scheme of things, a few car problems don't matter. It just seems like we are getting farther and farther away from being able to go back and see Dr. P anytime soon (for another baby). Still, we know that there is so so so much worse that could happen.

I will say though, I'm over this whole car thing. OVER IT.

:-P to cars. That's what I have to say.

Also, your "virtual" hug made me feel peaceful. I'm glad to have a friend who's BTDT!

I am so sorry. It seems like Tony and I always have car issues at the same time. Right after Hunter was born, both of our vehicles became completely inoperable(as I got stuck on the highway for 3 hours before someone could get me) and we had to buy two cars at once. Yuck! I think it has something to do with invisible alligators trying to make sure things are never easy. LOL. Good luck with the new car.
