Of course, as you may remember, it took my entire pregnancy to convince Chris that we needed to name our daughter Brianna *rolling eyes*. BUT, the important thing is that I did convince him and finally finally got to use my favorite name!
And the crowd cheers! {raaaaaaah!}
But seriously, I had no idea when I named our daughter Brianna that people would have SO much trouble with the name. No. Idea.
She gets called Bri-ah-na instead of Bri-anna . . . that one we expected a little since Bri-ah-na is a common pronunciation of the name.
She gets called Bri-anna (with a long i) by several people at church. I have no idea why.
She gets called Nana by other little kids and called herself this as well for a while.
Of course, we call her B and Bri a lot (even though I insisted that I wouldn't call her Bri . . . umm, yeah).
BUT, no one has ever called her Annie.
No one except herself, that is.
This started about 3 months ago. As far as we could tell, it was completely out of the blue. One day she started saying Annie, and it took us a while to figure out that she was referring to herself.
She says it as clear as day . . . there is no mistake that Annie is what she is saying. When people ask her what her name is (like in a store or something), she responds, "Annie", to which they generally reply, "Oh, that's a pretty name", etc. Sometimes, I tell them that Annie is not actually her name, but then they look at me like I'm crazy!
We have no idea why she calls herself Annie or where she got it, because we don't know anyone who calls her that. It's just what she's decided to call herself!
Of course, I have video proof of this! We were taking this right before bed, so she's in her pjs and is practically begging to go to bed in the video. But, you can hear her saying Annie loud and clear!
Love our little Annie girl!

Too Cute!!!!
That is awesome. I don't go by the name my parents gave me either. lol
Love my little Annie!
How funny! I saw a movie the other day and the character's name was Hannah, but everyone called her Nana because she couldn't say her name when she was little, so maybe it's that second syllable thing...?
