1) I use Swagbucks to earn free Amazon gift cards. If you've never heard of this, click here . . . I've earned over $200 in free Amazon gifts cards in the past year! Anyway, there are lots of ways to earn, and one way is by taking online surveys. I don't do this too often, but when I have a little time I try to qualify for these surveys. Part of the qualification process includes giving demographic information. One question relates to marital status. Many times, the survey administrator will group the options as follows:
- Single
- Married/Living with Partner
- Divorced
- Widowed
Every time I see Married and Living with Partner grouped together, it really gets under my skin! There is a huge difference in being married and not being married but living together. I think it's insulting to marriage to group it with living with partner.
2) Often in evening after we put Brianna to bed, we watch the 9:00pm news. After the news is over, Entertainment Tonight comes on and more often than not, we are distracted (because neither of us just sit and watch the TV while it's on . . . I'm usually on the computer as well) and don't change the channel. This week, there's been a lot of buzz about Kris Jenner and the affair she had while she was married to Robert Kardashian in the 90s. Oh, and yes, I'm more than a little ashamed that I actually know this information :-). Anyway, ET showed a clip of the guy with whom Kris had this affair. He said, "There's not much to say about it. It was adultery and there's shame in adultery. It's nothing to be proud of." THANK YOU Mr. Kris-Jenner's-former-lover for saying that. SO many times, Hollywood and the "stars" act proud of their affairs and say things to the effect of, "I was just following my heart . . . how can you fault me for that?" Statements like that make me sick. People should be ashamed of adultery! And thank you, also, for calling it what it was!
Random rants over :-)

Okay, I'll go with the lack of morals and Hollywood. Lots of celebs are up in arms because of the release of Demi Moore's 911 tape. Several have been on twitter saying, "where's the privacy?" "how many people have died b/c they haven't wanted all their business shared on a 911 tape, so they don't call?" Etc. 1. Joe Shmoe has been having his 911 tapes shared for YEARS, and no one has ever complained. How dare a "celebrity" have hers shared. Privacy is for everyone! and 2. If Demi Moore didn't want someone to call 911 for her she shouldn't have been acting like a 15 year old boy and doing "whipits" mixed with prescription drugs (whether legally obtained I don't know). But yeah. Celebs have a very loose sense of right and wrong.
Now wait a minute Chelle. You are forgetting that I am the ranter in the family!
