The rest of the fun

Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays. I love dressing patriotically and celebrating our freedoms and our country and eating summer food in the heat and watching fireworks. This year, we pretty much celebrated for a full week, and I didn't mind one bit!

Brianna looked so sweet in her Independence Day dress. She wore it to church a few times during the last couple weeks of June.

On June 28th (early, yes?), we went with Ross and Tia to an Independence Day celebration in a neighborhood where they are thinking of building and actually own a lot. I love taking photos of Ross . . . you just never know what you're going to get. Ahem.

The celebration had a live band, vendors selling snacks and toys, and a fireworks show. We went last year, and it was SO hot that it was almost unbearable. BUT, this year was nice!

Our little family :-):

The band was playing Brown-Eyed Girl (I have always loved this song!), and Brianna started dancing. It was SO cute! We were able to catch a little of it on video:

Tia bought B a glow-stick, and she loved wearing it on her head.

She was having a GREAT time - enjoying herself so much - then the fireworks began. Last year, she loved them. This year, she was scared senseless of the "boom-boom".

Brenson was a little scared at first, but didn't mind the noise after a while.

At one point, B went to talk to Ross, then a firework boomed, so she jumped up in his lap pretty much FREAKING out. Then, she was too scared to get down and walk back over to us.

So, we just took silly photos instead.

I enjoyed the show, but I don't think Brianna ever calmed down enough to enjoy it. We'll just have to try again next year!
