Since Chris and I have been married, we've always gone out to the N Homestead to celebrate Easter. Once children came along, it got more logistically complicated to go on Easter Sunday, but we have always made it a point to visit sometime around Easter. This was important to Chris's grandparents - and because of that - it became important to us.
Grandma always had a lovely Easter spread, and I think this holiday will always remind Chris of his grandparents. For this reason, the holiday has been a little more difficult for him in more recent years. However, we still want to make good memories and spend time at the Homestead around this time of year.
This year, we went out to the Homestead the weekend before Easter and spent Saturday out there with family. Chris's parents provided lunch, and we spent most of the afternoon playing outside and enjoying time with cousins. Chris's mom asked me to take some group photos, and you know I'm always up for that!

For the first time in a very long time, we even took photos of all of us together. I wanted to do this several times while Grandpa and Grandma were still living, but no one seemed too interested in that. I'm often met with resistance when wanting to take photos :-). I know Sharon and I (if no one else) are grateful to have these photos of the whole family!

This one is better . . . more smiles and more eyes open!
Meme always does an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos, but for some reason I didn't take any photos of that this year. My hope is that these visits will be positive memories for my children, just as Chris has good memories as a child on this same land.
