October Round-Up!

October was quite a month around here, y'all! I feel like I had sick kids nearly the whole month (which I think is pretty true), so I'm not too sorry to see this month come to an end! Now, if I can just keep everyone well . . .

Brooke kicked off the sickness trend at the very beginning of the month. She had been to school, Grampy and G-Jo's house for a visit, Chik-Fil-A for lunch and playtime, back to school to get the big kids, guitar lessons with Bren, and the library for LEGO Club before I realized when she hugged me at LEGO Club that she felt really warm. When we got home, I took her temp and sent this pic to Chris:

She said she didn't feel too bad, and was actually all smiles because I had found Timber (who had been lost from the day before).

The next day, though, she was feeling really bad. She said she was hungry, but couldn't even really sit up at lunch. She didn't have any other symptoms aside from the fever and feeling crummy.

Since Brooke was sick and couldn't go to school, Brecklyn had to go "by her own" for the first time. There were tears about it! Once she got to school, though, she did fine. It happened to be homecoming week, so there was a pep assembly and other fun activities going on. Brecklyn told me she enjoyed the pep assembly, but the picture her teacher took tells another story, haha.

Brianna spent the night at Grampy and G-Jo's house one night this month. Chloe was there, too, and they had a great time! G-Jo sent me this pic of them dressed up (Chloe is wearing the dress I wore in my oldest brother's wedding in 1991. Sadly, the dress outlasted the marriage.)

Brianna's friend, Allena, had a birthday this month, and Bri and I attended her birthday party. They have been friends since Kindergarten!

Allena has three brothers . . . one older and two younger. Brianna loved holding Allena's littlest brother, Noah.

Sweet friends!

Also this month, Brianna had her first ever appointment with the eye doctor! She has been having a lot of headaches recently, so I thought we should rule out an issue with her eyes.

She did amazing at the appointment (of course), and her eyes are healthy. She doesn't need any type of vision correction at this time (which is good but doesn't give us any answers regarding the headaches).

October is generally the month when we see the most incredible sunrises from our living room windows. There's just something about those Autumn sunrises! One morning, I took a photo of the sunrise,

then noticed a few minutes later that the sky looked even more amazing.

THEN, a few minutes after that it looked unbelievable!

Just a little later that same morning, we were blessed with a rainbow. 😍

I wrote here about our Harvest Party we hosted for our church family. The night after our Harvest Party, we had a few leftover hot dogs and supplies for s'mores, so Chris built a fire for our family to enjoy!

I think we only went to church as a family one Sunday this month due to illness. The kids looked extra cute that morning, so I took a few pics.

Love this one!

Brecklyn and Brooke love to go into my closet and try on my shoes. I had to laugh when I saw Brecklyn wearing my flip-flops and Brooke wearing my sweater boots. These girls are so much fun!

Speaking of Brooke and Brecklyn, they had their first ever field trip this month! Their class went to the pumpkin patch the day after Fall Break. I had signed up to go with them, but this was during the time that Brenson was very sick. Chris planned to take off work so I could still go, but the girls decided I should stay with Bren and Daddy should go with them. I was sad, but I knew it would mean a lot to everyone if Daddy got to go on the field trip.

They had a great time!

Afterwards, Daddy took them out for lunch, and they felt like the most special girls in the whole world.

THEN, Daddy went back to school to surprise Brianna and have lunch with her. I had three very happy girls that day!!!

My friend, Shana, makes shirt as a side hustle, and she made me this super fun Halloween shirt. Brianna took a few photos of me in it one day :-).

I ended up giving it to my sister because she works in a reading lab, so I thought she needed it. Then, I asked Shana to make me another one!

While I was at school one day, I noticed Mrs. B's class had artwork displayed in the main hallway. Most papers didn't have names on them, but I picked one out that I thought must be Bren's. I took a photo and asked him about it, and sure enough it was his! It was also featured on the school website.

Just like Brianna at this age, Brooke loves to dress up all the time. I never know how she'll come out of her room, but it always makes me smile!

One day, she declared that she was my housekeeper and was going to clean the whole house for me. I texted this photo to Chris and said, "She's my favorite today!" Lol.

Brecklyn isn't really into dressing up like Brooke is, but recently she has started building with LEGO almost daily. She's really good at following the instructions, although sometimes she does get a little frustrated if she can't get it just right. She does a pretty amazing job for a four year old, though!

The girls have all been very concerned about Brenson being so sick, and the little girls have had lots of questions about it all. One night before bed, I saw Brooke putting something up to Timber's mouth. When I asked her about it, she said, "Timber is getting a breathing treatment because she has 'ramonia'." Poor Timber!

This past Saturday, I took the girls to Sadie's birthday party which was in Tulsa. Afterwards, we went to visit Angie and Jesse because they just moved into a condo while they search for a house. Angie's dog, Lizzy, and Brianna have always had a special little connection, and Brianna loved loving on Lizzy while we were there. Lizzy didn't mind the attention one bit!

The screen on my computer has been damaged for some time, but I hate getting new electronics so I've just dealt with it. Well, I think someone accidentally stepped on my computer because I opened it one evening and found my screen had sustained quite a bit more damage. I finally broke down this past week and ordered a new one. I should be excited, but I'm not!!!

Finally, my sweet girls all looked so cute in their Halloween shirts earlier this week. There were many days this month that Bren couldn't go to school, so it was just the girls. He didn't like missing so much school, but he certainly didn't mind missing out on the photos sessions 😉.

I'm really hopeful that November will be a healthier month for my family than October was. Either way, I'm grateful for the blessings of this month!
