Every year before Easter, we set aside time to color eggs as a family. I feel like when we first had Brianna - and even for the first several years of her life - we struggled to establish family traditions. Maybe struggled isn't the right word, but it took us some time to find the things we enjoyed and wanted to keep from year to year. Egg dying, however, was a keeper from the very beginning! It is something I remember doing growing up, and it's one of my favorite holiday traditions!
I clearly remember a time when every child needed quite a bit of help with the egg dying process. Even though I know they're growing up, I was still taken aback this year a bit when none of the kids needed help at all. It makes things easier, for sure, but it also hurts my momma heart a bit!

Last year I didn't buy an egg coloring kit (with the little dye tablets) because I couldn't find any in the wake of COVID. We used food coloring, water, and vinegar instead, and we loved the result better than the kits. This year, we decided to pass on the egg coloring kit and just make our own mixture at home again. We really love the result!
I had to include this photo because the look on Brecklyn's face pretty much sums up how she feels about taking photos most of the time, haha!
I hope everyone had a fun Easter weekend! I'll share about our other activities next.
