Easter fell on Sunday, April 4th this year. "Easter Sunday" is kind of different for us compared with most people we know, mostly because it's the same. We don't have a sunrise service or a special communion service because we follow the biblical command and example to partake every first day of the week. We always attend worship service on the Lord's Day when able, and our service isn't different than normal. For us, Easter is not a religious holiday, but one that we celebrate for fun.
We do try to get up and ready just a bit earlier on Easter just so we have some time to take photos and look at our Easter baskets. The kids have learned that in order to do the fun things, we have to give mom good photos first. I tell them that if I take all the time to plan, purchase, and execute the fun stuff, a few good photos is the least they can do! For the most part, photos aren't the struggle that they once were, and for that I am thankful! Not everything about the kiddos growing up is hard.

It's crazy to me how much they have all changed in one short year, but especially Brianna. She is looking so "teen" these days! I have used the small wooden rocking chair my dad made me when I was a child for Easter photos since Brianna was just a few months old. As you can see, the children are quickly outgrowing it, and I'm not sure how many more years we'll be able to use it. Waaaaaah 😢.
My beautiful crew . . . Brenson, Brecklyn, Brooke, and Brianna
After photos, we always have the children go into a bedroom while Chris and I set out their Easter goodies. Three of four got new rainboots this year (Brianna didn't need them), so I thought the hearth looked extra springy and cute!
Checking out their goodies . . .
Bren was especially excited for a booklight!
Brecklyn loved getting clothes for her new boy 18 inch doll.
I guess all Brooke got was Easter grass, haha!
Brianna also got a booklight. Now they can read in the van at night!
Brooke and Brecklyn both promptly slipped on their new rainboots. I thought Brecklyn looked like a Wellie Wisher in her dress and boots :-).
So, so grateful for this family of mine!
My loves <3
