So far, our summer has been full of fun, which is a nice change from a year ago when we didn't have a whole lot going on! Some of our normal summer activities (such as VBS and Summer Library Programs) are still a no-go for this summer, so I'm thankful we've been able to be involved in a few other activities.
Earlier this week, Brooke and Brecklyn participated in a new-to-us "camp" called Will's Wild West Kids Camp. It was held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning at the Will Roger's Memorial from 8:30-12:30 each day. They missed two days of the summer run program we are doing, but they didn't mind. When we first told them they were going to go to "Cowboy Camp" for three days, they could not contain their excitement!

At camp, they each received a hat, a badge with their name, a bandana, and a t-shirt. What more could they ask for, haha!
Each day, they were able to see presentations, do fun activities, make crafts, and eat lunch. In the photo below, Brooke is making a rope!

One day, all the kids got to take turns riding an old-fashioned stage coach. Brecklyn couldn't believe it was being pulled by REAL horses :-).
I pulled the photo below from the Will Roger's Memorial FB page . . . lots of activities and learning going on each day!
On the last day of camp, parents and guests were invited to eat lunch with their "campers". Brianna, Bren, Grampy, G-Jo, and I came to eat with the girls, and they couldn't wait to show us all around. One of the first things they wanted to do was show us how to shuck corn!
Bren wasn't interested in going to Cowboy Camp with the girls (although he was within the age range), but he sure enjoyed our visit :-).
And, he certainly didn't turn down the offer to make a rope of his own!
Lord willing, this will be Bren's first year to go to Bible camp with Brianna in July, and the twins have been a little sad that they aren't old enough to go, too. I'm thankful they had their own special "camp", and they truly had a blast! They are already talking about next year :-).
