A Quick Stop at Boologah!

This year, Halloween fell on a Sunday . . . the Sunday after we had been out of town for Cross Country Nationals. On October 29th, we drove up to Springfield to walk the course with the team. The kids ran on Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon we made our way back home after meeting up with the Swearingens for a late lunch (they were in town to see Tia's brother who was in town to preach a gospel meeting). Class parties for the twins were on the 29th, so they both missed their fall parties this year (and they were NOT happy about it). So, unlike years past, no one had dressed up or gotten candy at all when actual Halloween day rolled around. Had we already dressed up for something, I would have skipped any additional Halloween festivities with everything else we had going on. Since we hadn't done anything else, however, Chris and I decided to go ahead and squeeze Boologah in on Sunday afternoon between church services. Because why not, right?!?

Serious face but she looks kind of mean!

Ready for a bit of Boologah fun!

Boologah started at 4:00pm, and we knew we didn't have much time before evening church services at 5:00pm. We got there right as it started and starting collecting candy!

It was already busy even though we got there early!

Brooke and Brecklyn collecting that candy!

We typically see the Rowells at Boologah, so the girls were happy that this year wasn't the exception.

Always a fun time with cousins at Boologah!

Our tradition is to have a family pic by this huge, beautiful tree in the nearby park. The tree was busy this year - and we didn't have time to wait - so the gazebo had to do :-).

After evening church services, the kids dressed back up and went trick-or-treating in Russ and Lisa's neighborhood. I should have taken a photo of ALLLLL the candy because y'all, it's A LOT. It's safe to say the kids are happy with the haul!
