As of this past Friday, my baby boy is now ELEVEN years old. He is growing like a weed and looking more grown up by the day.
With four February babies, we never know what the weather is going to be like on their birthdays. Bren has often had frigid, icy, or snowy weather, so that makes it hard to plan activities. The good thing is that Bren really likes to be home doing his own thing, so that is what we did this year!
For his birthday breakfast, Bren requested pancakes and bacon . . . and his pancakes were topped with whipped cream, of course!
Because he's growing so much, Brenson was in need of a new bike. He was surprised and excited with this birthday gift!
In addition to the bike, he had a few other small gifts to open.
Anything that is unique or gadget-y is right up Bren's alley!
We can never have too much Lego!
Almost immediately, Bren started working on his bike. The boy has always loved to tinker!
After we took the twins to school, the kids and I worked on setting up a rocket that Bren had gotten for Christmas. He had already built the rocket, so we just needed to get it set up on the launch pad outside.
Ready to launch!
Bri and Bren . . . yes they are now the same height!
The first two times Bren tried to launch the rocket were a bust. But he didn't give up.
We recruited Daddy to come help us tweak a few things, and Bren gave it another try.
This time, it was a success!
We thought the rocket would go much further than it did, but it was still exciting to watch it launch. Bren ran next door to retrieve what was left of it.
After our morning of rocket launching, we invited Grampy and G-Jo to meet us for lunch at El Azteca. Then, of course, Grampy wanted to go to Braum's for dessert.

Bren had not wanted to take any posed photos that morning, and I didn't feel like arguing with him on his birthday. After lunch, however, I made him fix his hair and take a photos. He wasn't thrilled, but he cooperated. Notice that this is the first year he didn't want a personalized birthday shirt 😔.
Birthday boy!
Eleven years old!
💙
So happy to have a bike that fits him!
Bren spent most of the afternoon breaking in his new bike. WHY does he look like a grown man in this photo?!?
For dinner that evening, Bren requested chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, cream gravy, corn, and rolls. Everyone was happy about the menu!
Cake isn't Brenson's favorite thing, but the boy loves ice cream sandwiches!
Make a wish!
