As it tends to be, May was a whirlwind of a month for us. In between finishing school, Track & Field Nationals, Mother's Day, and vacation, here are some things we had going on.
We started hosting monthly youth devos at Oologah in September of 2023. After we hosted the first six or so, the congregation in Ramona began sharing some of the hosting duties with us. This month, the Whispering Hills congregation hosted the youth devo for the first time. Their plan to is get into the hosting rotation, and I must say it's been really nice to share the privilege of hosting with others!

One good thing about another congregation hosting is that there were a few people there who had never been to one of our youth devos before. It's great for us and for our kids to meet new people!

A few days later, we went back to Whispering Hills for their annual gospel meeting. While the adults visited, the kids went outside and enjoyed the amazing sunset. Of course, Brianna captured the moment with a few photos!

One of the bigger things we did this month was spend a few days in Missouri for the Track & Field Homeschool Nationals Competition. The weather forecast was kind of all over the board, so I made sure to pack regular t-shirts, long-sleeved t-shirts, and hoodies. My packing pile made me laugh . . . alllll the Falcons gear!
Once we returned home from Nationals, we had less than a week before leaving for vacation. In addition to endless laundry, house cleaning, and getting packed for vacation, we made time to go visit our friends, the Dilks. Ms. Lynn has cancer and Mr. Bill has health problems, but we had a delightful visit with them! Mr. Bill even broke out his Wii for the kids to play. A few Sundays later, he gifted his Wii, along with all the games and accessories (there were A LOT), to them. They were thrilled!
I'm pretty sure nearly every round-up post I write includes at least one photo of the incredible sunrise or sunset we get to enjoy from our house. I couldn't let this one be left out! This photo is of a sunset one evening in May.
Between Nationals and vacation, Brianna took a driver's ed course at Northeast Tech. She was in class for 10 hours one Saturday, but the class also included actual driving hours with an instructor. Once we got back from vacation, Bri had her first driving day. I was trying to be brave, but watching her drive away with her instructor was not easy! She did great, though, and will have another driving day soon.
Finally, our annual VBS is coming up next week. We spent part of last week and all of last Saturday working on stuff for VBS. The entire upstairs was turned into a VBS production zone, haha!
We have already hit the ground running for June, but after VBS things should calm down a bit. Then maybe we can start the relaxing part of summer, lol!
