Happy Birthday to Me!

As of yesterday, I officially only have a few years of the 20-somethings left. How did this happen??? I don't feel like I should be another year older... but I am!

Husband did a great job of making me feel extra special this year. I was a little (okay, probably a lot) sad about my birthday because I soooo wanted to be pregnant this year. With each birthday, I know my ovaries are getting closer to retirement and that scares me. If they don't work correctly when they are young and sprightly, what makes me think they have any hope of working correctly when they're old and decrepit?

But that is not the point of this post.

The point of this post is to talk about what a great day I had yesterday! The celebrating actually began last Wednesday night. Husband is terrible at keeping surprises. He can't stand to have a gift-in-waiting for me, so I usually get birthday/anniversary/christmas gifts early. I have nothing to do with this... I certainly don't beg and plead and nose around the house looking for my gifts. And I certainly don't act in a way to encourage his behavior when he finally gives in and gives them to me early *grin*

No really though, he really can't keep surprises from me and I really like getting presents, so it's a win-win.

So, I received my first gifts from Chris last Wednesday night, then spent Thursday evening, Friday, and Saturday in Dallas with Tia, Tracy, and Holley. The trip (and I'll do a post about it later) wasn't to celebrate my birthday, but the timing was nice.

Yesterday morning, when I came out of the shower, I had this waiting for me:
It came with two of these to put in it.

I love it! Most of you probably don't know that I have this crazy attraction to serving dishes... I don't know why, but I love them! I love having cute dishes to serve guests and take to parties, even though I really don't do either one that often.

At work, Husband sent me a beautiful autumn bouquet of flowers. It's always so much fun to get things like that at work! My co-workers also helped me celebrate with cupcakes (purple and sparkly!) and sweet cards.

I came home from work to find little sticky notes all over the house. They each had a little birthday message for me. Then I got to open more presents (woot!). I had been eyeballing this circle cutter (for scrapbooking) for a while. Husband bought me the cutter and all the accessories! I can't wait to really use it (I played with it for a minute last night, and so far I love it!)

After a nice dinner and numerous cards and calls from friends and family, I went to bed with a smile on my heart. Thanks, everyone!
