Weekend Project

My parents came to visit this past weekend so my Dad could be our guest preacher on Sunday. We like to take advantage of my Dad's handy-man talents while he's visiting, so we decided to have him help us spruce up our kitchen/dining area.

Here is a before shot of what the room looked like:
And here it is after our work this weekend!

Chris and I worked each evening last week to put the red on the walls (red paint is NO FUN to work with!) and warm up the neutral color a bit. Dad helped us make and hang the chair rail.

You can see in these photos of the other half of the kitchen the difference in the neutral color.

Before:After:

I am just thrilled with the results!!!

Our weekend certainly wasn't all work and no play though. We also enjoyed a great cookout at Ross & Tia's house. There was SO MUCH yummy food including ribs, brisket, bbq chicken, and fried fish!

After we were rained on a bit, the sun decided to come out and join us for the fun. We sat by the pool relaxing with our feet in the water and visiting.

We had such a nice, relaxing time. Thanks R & T for having us!
