A Little Bit of Reuniting

A few weekends ago, my dad's side of the family all got together for an afternoon family reunion. This was the first time I had seen my cousins who were there, my aunt, and one of my uncles since my grandma's funeral over 9 years ago.

It was really important to me to go because I wanted to see my grandpa and introduce him to Brianna. I hadn't seen grandpa in about 3 years. He will turn 84 years old at the end of this year.

Grandpa, Me, Brianna, and Dad . . . 4 generations

Brianna LOVES old men. I don't know why, but it's true, so of course she loved my grandpa!
She also had a good time with my Uncle Jim. They sat and played for quite a while after lunch.4 generations of N men: Grandpa, JT, Jeremy, & DadThis photo is my grandpa with all 4 of his children:
And finally, we used a tripod and camera timer to take a group photo:
It was nice to see everyone, but one side effect I didn't expect was that it made me really miss my grandma. We didn't have many holiday traditions, so I don't really deal with missing her much during those times of year. However, sometimes it just hits me, and this was certainly one of those times. She always loved family gatherings.

I just read your blog about the family reunion and I felt the same way about it. It was great to see everyone but it really made me miss Grandma Belva! She would have been so in love with all her great-grandchildren! I can just see our girls clomping around in her high-heels and spinning around on the stool in front of her makeup desk. Good memories! :')

Hi Chelley, I am trying again. Blogger is being difficult and not letting me comment. I wasn't sure who you were until I saw your family picture! It is so nice to "see" you again. What a sweet little family you have! Love to you!
