Pregnancy Update: 13 Weeks!

So, I guess I am going to do weekly pregnancy updates after all :-) The weeks certainly seem to be going quickly, especially when we have a busy week like this past one.

Today, I am 13 weeks pregnant! This photo was actually taken yesterday after church. I had worn a much cuter shirt, but it is really flowy and hides my belly bump really well. Since the purpose of these photos is the showcase the bump, I changed into this shirt. There's no hiding the bump with this shirt on!

Our appointment with Dr. N went really well last week. His office is so busy all the time, and last week was no exception. We waited over an hour to be seen. Chris was with me, and we had Brianna with us as well. She was so well behaved during the appointment and very friendly to Dr. N. He has a BIG personality, and I'm pretty sure she was entertained by him :-).

My blood pressure was great (I've never had a problem with this, so I don't anticipate any), and I've lost about 2 pounds since being pregnant. Of course, I don't feel like I've lost any weight . . . especially since my pants don't button. Pregnancy is weird like that. It may also just be a difference in scales, but I'll take it!

When Dr. N came into our room, his first question was, "So, was this planned?" Ummm, excuse me? As the words were coming out of his mouth, he saw that our records had come from Dr. P's office, and he knew the answer. THEN, he said, "Why didn't you come see me for treatments? I could have done this to you!"

Awkward.

I didn't think it would be appropriate to say, "Because you aren't a specialist and trained in this area." Fortunately, if you don't answer him, he just keeps talking so that's the approach I used.

Dr. N does an ultrasound at every appointment, so I knew we'd get to see the baby during the appointment. It looked great . . . was moving and waving and bobbing its little head. He detected a strong heartbeat that measured 167 bpm. He also guessed the gender to be a boy, but then took it back. We hope to find out at our next appointment in 3 weeks.Dr. N has pretty high-tech equipment, and can switch to 4d at any time during the ultrasound. With Brianna at this age, we got incredible pictures. This baby wasn't positioned very well for great photos, but we did get this one:
We are looking at the back of the baby's head, neck, and body. You can clearly see its arm, elbow, and hand. Notice it has its little fist in its mouth . . . maybe a thumb-sucker already?

When Dr. N switched to this view, Chris said, "Wow!" So, of course, Brianna echoed with her own, "Wow!" Dr. N thought that was pretty funny :-).

I'm feeling better everyday. I still take a nap almost every day, but I'm starting to not sleep very well at night, so I think I need to stop napping. I'm not having any major cravings or other symptoms that I can think of. Well, minus the bulging belly, of course.

Happy Monday!

So close, so close to wanting another one... I predict when you show the first fully formed baby 3D I'll be making an appointment for the dr.

You look wonderful, and I hope you feel better and better each day.
