The wedding of the year and other happenings . . .

This past weekend was a busy one for our little (growing) family. After a week packed full of Halloween fun (post to come on that), we decided not to go trick-or-treating on Halloween. It was cold and windy, and we decided to stay in and celebrate Chris's birthday instead! He is a Halloween baby - and since we had already participated in plenty of Halloween activities - the kids were happy with a birthday celebration in place of trick-or-treating.

On Saturday morning, we went to watch my niece play soccer. We've only been to one other game this year, so the kids were super excited to get to go again. Despite the chilly temps, it was a beautiful morning for a little soccer play.

Cousins and BFFs :-):

I love how Brenson and Chloe Jo are both looking too-cool-for-school in this pic!

Brenson can hardly wait until he's old enough to be out on the field playing. I'm not sure when we'll jump into that, but he's ready NOW.

I thought this was too cute of the girls sitting on their balls watching the game.

After the game, we grabbed a quick lunch (and Chris and Bren got their hair cut), then headed to church for an afternoon of singing. We love to sing and always enjoy when our church hosts a singing. This day was extra special because Bren decided he wanted to lead a song. He led Jesus Loves Me, and did a great job (although he did get a bit shy about half-way through the song). It made this Momma's heart proud!

We ended up leaving the singing early to head to my friend Joy Lin's wedding. Joy Lin is such a special friend to me. We worked together back when I worked outside the home, and became very close during that time. I cherish her and her friendship so much! She has waited so diligently on her husband, and we were thrilled to share in her special day with her!

Her wedding was a gorgeous, outdoor, Autumn wedding at dusk. It was definitely chilly, but seriously SO beautiful!

I stood at the guestbook table while Brianna handed out programs. She was so cute chatting with everyone and took her job very seriously.

Brianna was visiting with this little girl. My girl doesn't have a timid bone in her body (unlike her mother).

See how beautiful the setting was? The wedding was actually at Joy Lin's parents' house, and it was perfect!

Brenson enjoyed exploring the property while waiting for the wedding to begin.

They decorated with lots of pumpkins and gourds, but really the property was beautiful on its own.

My kids loved this swing hanging from a tree.

Joy Lin was stunning!

We are just SO happy for her and Brant!

It actually wasn't too terribly cold until the sun went down. I will say, after it got dark, I was pretty uncomfortable! However, instead of cake, Joy Lin and Brant had an ice cream bar at the reception. It didn't matter how cold it was, my littles were not about to miss out on ice cream, haha!
They had fun music playing at the reception, and Brianna took it upon herself to break it down in the middle of the crowd. She was dancing her heart out (by herself . . . there was no one else dancing), and it was pretty precious! Love my spunky girl!

What a happy day!!!

I ADORE this photo of Joy Lin and Brianna! They were both just beaming!

We got home after 10:00pm Saturday night and were definitely thankful for daylight savings time giving us an extra hour of rest. And, since we were out so late, both of our kiddos actually slept in! Of course, we had church on Sunday and I was pretty exhausted, but it was well worth it!
