Who can believe we are winding down the month of March already?!? As slow as January and February seemed, March is flying by! Spring Break for my crew was last week, and we had a really great week spending time outdoors, with each other, and with friends.
When planning our homeschool year, I scheduled my big kids to have breaks at the same time as the twins. I'm so glad we do it that way because it makes it easier for everyone! The Friday before spring break the twins ended up getting a bonus day off of school due to winter weather. I let the big kids take most of the day off to enjoy the snow, too!
Definitely not feeling very springy!
We spent most of the day staying warm and cozy in the house. As a rare treat, we watched a move (Pippi Longstocking).
And, Brooke lost a tooth. It's been a few months since anyone has lost a tooth around here!
The weather warmed up quickly and all the snow melted by Saturday. We had a low-key day at home playing outside and doing some work around the house. On Sunday, we went to Mom and Dad's house after church services for lunch. Grampy wanted a photo with Brianna, Brenson, and Chloe, and the clocks that he recently made with them.
I needed a pedicure in the worst sort of way. It was so nice!
We spent the rest of Monday playing at home. The kids were so happy to have some free time at home.
On Tuesday, we all slept in (SO nice!), then the kids and I packed a lunch and met our friends, the Burkholders, at Claremore Lake. The kids scarfed up their food so they could run and play. Brooke and Brecklyn had a great time with Jordan!

Zack and Brenson became friends in Kindergarten, and have stayed friends since even though they've been at different schools for two years now. They had the BEST time scootering all around the Lake Park, exploring, and playing.

As soon as we got home from the lake, Brenson realized we didn't have his scooter with us. Right as we were leaving, I was trying to take a photo of all the kids and they were being kind of crazy. Bren laid his scooter down beside the van, but no one actually put it in the van. Thankfully, Chris volunteered to drive Brenson back across town to the lake to retrieve the scooter. It was there waiting for him right where he had left it!

Brooke delivered a speech about Will Rogers and how he died.
We met Rebekah, Hayden, and Avery there for the afternoon.
The fire department brought out a fire truck for the kids to explore,
and there was even an Air Evac helicopter they were able to sit in!

We really enjoy having the memorial here in town, and since the twins attended Cowboy Camp there this summer, they think they are the resident experts on the memorial 😂. They loved showing us all around and telling us the interesting facts they know about Will Rogers.

Thursday was St. Patrick's Day! We don't really celebrate this holiday, but we do wear green and have a festive breakfast. This year, we had green milk, Lucky Charms, and green lemon poppy seed muffins.
Yum? Haha.
After breakfast, we loaded in the van and drove to Tulsa to pick up our friends, the Whittles. Brianna doesn't ride in the front seat yet . . . she only sat there for the photo.
Then, we let the kids play most of the afternoon. Lia stayed home with Jesse as she wasn't feeling well, and Angie was thankful for the way it worked out since the place was SO busy. I'm always a little nervous about losing a kid there, so I branded all my kids with my phone number on their tummies.

Love this friend so much!
I was worn smooth out by the time we got home on Thursday! Then, Bri, G-Jo, and I went to our monthly ladies Digging Deep Bible study.
It stormed early Friday morning and was still raining when we got up to go to track practice. I was kind of hoping it would be canceled, but the rain {mostly} let up in time for us to go. It was a chilly and blustery morning, though! I've been walking the track while the kids practice, and I didn't feel too cold as long as I was moving.

Since it was a cold, dreary day - and since we had been on the go all week - we enjoyed a movie and popcorn once we got home from track practice. We watched both the 1990s and 1960s version of The Parent Trap. The kids love to set up a tent in the living room and have had one set up all week. Perfect for a movie watching day!
